Since sharing the stage with acts such as Ted Nugent, Styx and REO Speedwagon exciting things have been happening for "Sanchez". Along with airplay on national radio at 106.5 "The Edge", Sanchez has been nominated for "Rock Band of the Year" (2012) as well as "Best Folk Artist" (2012) by the Charlotte Music Awards society and has been doing shows to packed houses in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas including but not limited to Greenville, SC, Charleston, SC and Hilton Head Island.
"Sanchez" is a musical situation created by Christopher Max Sanchez that connects to people and excites audiences through songs that are fun and eclectic and relatable.
Sanchez is a fusion of good time Folk, Blues, Reggae, and Roots music. Chris brings the majority of the guitar and vocals to the table with sincerity, skill, and honesty. An accomplished blues player, Chris brings you the soul with electric and slide guitar along with warm and groovy tones from his Martin night after night. Sanchez has found a new sound and fertile ground as a prolific writer and a rapidly with a growing catalogue.
Chris is a Texas songwriter now based out of Charlotte, NC. Chris "cut his teeth" playing Blues, Rock, and Indie/Alt. Country in West Texas then later in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin, the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas in venues large and small. Chris later spent three years in the Cayman Islands, soaking up stories, rhymes, and rhythm that profoundly impacted his songwriting and style. Chris has played from New York to Florida, traveled from coast to coast and over oceans wide to gather the stories that are now the songs heard at a "Sanchez" show. Chris' last stop before Charlotte, NC was a two and a half year run on the beaches of Padre Island and Corpus Christi, TX. Several islands and a few countries later, Chris has found a musical home and a host of top notch musicians in the Carolinas that help with the heavy lifting at shows with a jumping rhythm section and a sultry saxophone.
